The hair style example below features a more typical short hair style, with shorter hair all over the head.  The crown area has just slightly longer hair.

Notice that the hair appears to be very thick.  Thick, coarse hair will always require a little bit of thinning and layering to get it to lay right.  This is especially true for men's hair styles, since most men do not spend much time styling their hair.  They simply wash, brush and let their hair air-dry. 

Applying some sort of styling gel or cream will help to keep layers in place during the day.  Not much styling will be required for this type of style, unless you let the layers and hair grow long.

(coming soon) Spencer Prattt looked fantastic with his spikey 'do at the launch party of EA Sports Freestyle's presentation of Facebreaker. His back and sides were jagged-cut and blended into his top layers, which were easy to spike and added height to his style. A little wax or molding cream is all that is needed to re-create this look.

How to Style:
Apply a generous amount of styling gel to damp hair. Mess the sides and top, scrunching them backwards, and then leave to dry naturally.
